Winks and Ike - Litter whelped 10-9-07
Here is Winks just after delivery with the whole gang...All ELEVEN of them.  We have 3 black males, 3 yellow males, 2 black females and 3 yellow females.  Though they were born a bit early, they are all strong and healthy!  A blessing from the Lord.
With such a big family, Winks has a pup for all occasions......one to whisper a bedtime story .............>>>>>>>
<<<<<<........One to snuggle with, and.......
......One to kiss her goodnight! >>>>>>>
A  face ANY mother could love!!
This little pumpkin at the right is sound asleep...not nursing... just holding his spot for later!!  He falls asleep like this quite often.  I guess he's already figured out that there are 11 babies and 10 "bottles"!!  Smart Boy!
Second Week:  The Fire Babies
We spent a rather unusual week dealing with the uncertainty of the fires in the area and evacuated for one day with 5 people, 4 cats, 1 guinea pig, 5 dogs and all eleven puppies in tow.  The  little ones opened their eyes for the first time while we were gone and handled everything like troopers.
The puppies turned 2 weeks on Tuesday while we were evacuated and all have opened their eyes now.  They are now walking instead of crawling around and are very active.  These are the yellow boys: green and blue (l to r) above and black at right.
The precious black girls:  blue/purple checkered collar and green collar (left to right).
These are the sweet yellow girls:  blue/yellow collar on the left, pink girl in the middle and pink paw print collar on the right.  Each of these pictures, by the way, is a miracle in itself.  These little darlings never seem to want to be still at the same time!!
The black boys definitely get the wiggle worm award for this week.  Although it doesn't appear so by the photos, these little guys were constantly moving and these were the only pictures out of dozens that weren't blurred at some point!!
White collared boy
Red collared boy
And of course, that's yellow collared boy in the middle.
And here's the devoted mama who decided to make herself a bed in my closet out of the pile of  puppy blankets.  I leave the door open for her now and she sneaks in there for a little rest.  It's right by the whelping pen so she can hear the babies, but be out of sight.  She is doing a wonderful job and was calm and relaxed even in the evacuation.
Good job, Winksie!!
Three Weeks Old
The little "pupkins"  are three weeks old.  (10-30)
With eyes wide open they are making their way around the whelping pen  in a very grown up coordinated walk.  Compare the picture at the left with the one at the very top of the page to see how much they've grown.   Poor Winks is overwhelmed by a sea of puppies at every feeding session.  They will have their first taste of puppy mush this week sometime.  (ground puppy food and milk replacer in a warm mash)

Four Week Old Pupkins
The little ones have grown considerably as you can see in comparison to poor mama below.  She is lost in the sheer mass of all those pups!!  They have ventured outside in the warm afternoons and cuddle up in the bed with our family in the evenings as we relax together.  Everyone gets plenty of snuggle time with us.
Winks giving good night kisses.
The Yellow Boys
Black Collar Boy  "Chris"
Green Collar Boy "Bear"
Blue Collar Boy
The pups are developing their personalities and Sadie has begun to name them.  Chris is short for Christopher, as in Columbus, and is our little fearless explorer.  Bear is the polar bear of the litter, holding a good pound over all the other pups.  He has his daddy's expression and good looks.
The Black Boys
Red Collar Boy
White Collar Boy
Yellow Collar Boy  "Clark"
I call the little boy at right, Clark, as in Kent...Superman!  He is the first one up everytime I walk in the room and call "puppies!"  He's very alert and smart and though smaller, is a scrapper. Like his brother Chris, he is an explorer, so I guess he could also be Clark, as in Lewis and....!
The Yellow Girls
Pink Paw Print Girl "Annie"
Blue/yellow Collar  "Dulce"
Pink Collar Girl "Winnie"
These are three of the sweetest little girls I've known.  Dulce got her name because Sadie thought "Innocent" was not a good name even though it described her to a tee.  Dulce means sweet, mild or gentle and that suits her perfectly.  She's always the first pup Sadie picks up for snuggle time.
The Black Girls
Green Collar Girl
Blue/Pink Collar Girl
Though these girls do have their differences, I call them the Bobsey Twins because they are very similar in looks and temperament.  They are often found sleeping next to one another and are very peaceful, content little girls.  They have mellow temperaments and are very quiet.
Five Weeks Old
Dulce
Winnie
Annie
Here are the three yellow girls.  They  are becoming quite beautiful and like all the other pups, have had a wonderful time with their newfound freedom in outdoor playtime.  They are all grand explorers and follow the big dogs around everywhere.
These are the black little ladies who have been named since last week. The babies were all microchipped this week and are being weaned.
Emma
Kipper
Here  are the handsome yellow boys. They had a delightful time in the bushes and playing in the leaves.  Before long they'll know every nook and cranny in the yard.

Baloo
Bear
Chris
Huck
Tucker
And last but not least, Clark, my little superman!
Sadie named little Huck and Tucker this week as well, and as you can see...little Huck was all tuckered out after playing with the hose and faucet and decided it was a pretty good place to take a nap too!!

Final Glimpses...
These are some shots of the the families that have taken my babies under their wings and into their lives.  I will be updating this page with photos of the pups as I receive them.  Thanks to all those who follow the growth of these little ones on the pages of my website.  May you find the same joy and blessing in them that I do!!  And thank you to all the families that keep me updated with pictures and stories...you perpetuate my delight in these pups!

...And New Beginnings
Thanks to all who contributed to this page by sending photos of your new baby dogs.
This little darlin' is Claire with her new friend, Rose.  Her napping buddy is Brenan.

Loved by the House Family!
Here's little lovin' LouLou with all sorts of new found friends.  She's lab-Adored by Pam and Chris Davis....kept busy in play and warm in rest by Fanny...and taught to be a lady by the sweet senior Mavis.
This is Miss Emma. Sadie has a picture of her mama, Winks, at this age that looks exactly like this little pupkin.  From the reports of her adoring family, Paul and Gretchen Delaney, she has much the same character as well...very smart with a touch of rascal. I noticed she's even got that same "sit" of her mama's!!
Here we have Tila, who appears to be looking more and more like her dear old dad each day.  She is proudly owned and loved by Joe and Nancy Hunt and is destined to be the next dock dog champ!!
And the most prolific photographer award definitely goes to Pam Kling. She and her husband, Ben, have proven to me that they spend every moment adoring this boy, Moose, by sending me wonderful pictures each week.  It never ceases to make me smile to get them and to have the opportunity to watch this guy grow up.  I have a picture of Ike's brother at the same age in exactly the same position on his bed and the two could be identical twins!!  Keep up the good work, Pam, and keep the pictures coming!
Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, for He is Good! ....For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness! Psalm 107:1,9
(Moose giving thanks for the bounty!!)
Scott, John and Ben Anderson with Clark.
See pics below to meet mom, Megan.
This is Clark with Megan, Ben and John Anderson.  Little Superman has turned out to be quite the handsome guy and has apparently maintained his mild manners!!  Judging from the smile on Ben's face in every picture Megan's sent, Clark certainly has made a new best friend!! :)
